Feb 20, 2008 - The Flotilla has received the grant from the State Boating Law Administrator. When the check arrives we will need all hands to implement the distribution of flyers to local stores and schools about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning while under the swim platform on boats. We will work in groups and

Feb 13, 2008 - The Flotilla picnic was canceled due to rain today. We are rescheduling it for May, but we don't know when yet. Stay tuned here and on the Calendar page for the date and time.

Feb 12, 2008 - On a recent SAR, Dave, June, and Dan rescued 4 children and one drunk parent from a vessel sinking in the bay. Super job to the Coxswain and Crew for the excellent job. Dave guessed right when he thought they might be caught in the bay back current due to the tide and time of day. Only 35 minutes elapsed from the first radio call before the crew spotted them. They got all safely to the shore where the children were taken to the hospital for observation and the father was taken to jail.

Feb 10, 2008 - The Materials Officer says that the uniform orders made three weeks ago have arrived. Contact him or attend the Flotilla meeting next month to receive the items you purchased.

Feb 9, 2008 - One of our email links received a request for a Vessel Safety Check for the 150 boats in their marina. The private club is adamant that they want all boats to comply with the Federal Regulations regarding safety. The insurance cost saving for the marina is also a motivation for the Arizona Yacht Club. We are scheduling 2 days on the 3rd weekend of May and 2 days on the 4th weekend of June. They say there are over 200 boats in the yacht club membership, so we will need all hands to get them all done.
